The Effect of Neuropathic Pain on Sleep Quality in Patients with Axial Spondyloarthritis

Objective: This study aims to determine whether neuropathic pain (NP) presence affects sleep quality in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (AxSpA). Materials and Methods: Demographic data of the were documented. The patient's NP was evaluated painDETECT questionnaire. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Ankylosing Spondylitis Life (AsQoL), Disease Activity Score (ASDAS-CRP), visual analog scale (VAS) used evaluate quality, life (QoL), severity disease activity, respectively. Results: Among 108 who participated researh, 51 female 57 male. found 41.7% them. 65.7% Of all had a disorder. AxSpA statistically significant higher VAS-activity, VAS-night, VAS-rest scores (p<0.001, p<0.001, p=0.002, respectively). They also ASQoL activity. (p=0.008, p=0.012, Although impaired detected 71.1% NP, it present 61.9% without we didn’t find difference (p=0.32). Total correlated PSQI ASQoL, VAS (p< 0.001). But there no correlation ASDAS-CRP (p=0.57). Conclusion: A large majority have problem, independent NP. Not only targeting inflammatory but disorder together follow-up will improve QoL.
